Latest COVID 19 Crisis Update – 23/03/2020


As we know last night the Prime Minister announced that “WE” as a nation are in lockdown for a minimum of 3 weeks.

As of this morning, all play and outdoor gym equipment on recreational parks and gardens and are out of bounds till further notice.

At present you may as part of your daily exercise regime be able to access to the parks but please avoid to use of any play or gym equipment, bear in mind that you must keep a safe distance from any other people walking the grounds.

Please note that this may change as the risk increases!

Hopefully you received an information leaflet last week, please read it and use the contacts and local suppliers willing to help you through this crisis.

For the sake of your own health and the health of others, PLEASE heed this instruction and support each other, there is a number of basic and easy steps we can all do:

• Stay on top of your personal cleanliness (keep cleaning your hands)
• Phone your neighbours for a daily chat
• Give your door handles etc. a regular wipe down
• Get some fresh air, potter in the garden
• Make a daily chores rota, organise your daily routine
• Relax and watch the numerous repeats on TV
• Dig out those books you've been meaning to read for ages
• One daily walk but keep a good distance between others
• Share ideas to stop boredom setting in
• Catch up on box sets but don't swap DVD’s with neighbours as there is a chance of cross infection
• Those who are media savvy, watch for updates on the Halsall Parish website, the Coronavirus Support Group or the Halsall Facebook pages     
• Those who are not media savvy, ask one of your family to teach you
Share cooking tips and recipes, post photos of the results – including the disasters!

Above all, show respect, patience and tolerance during these difficult times.

Your local milkman can deliver on a daily basis many items other than milk, this is when you can support them to support you! There is no issues in the supply of milk however due to the increase of customers they may not be delivered to your door until mid-morning, so please be patient as they are doing fantastic work under difficult and challenging circumstances!
